It was £6 something, admittedly 3 small scoops, in some place next to Covent Garden Tube the other day. Did appear from the tourists in front that you were allowed to dispense with all manners for that price though.
Hard agree re the snobbery tho (and the assertion the vendor was a robbin’ bastard!)
These girls are great.
I paid £3 for a rather pathetic lemon ice-cream from a rather delapo looking van outside Denmark Hill overground station Friday afternoon. My daughter was after her monthly visit to King's College Hospital Dental Unit so I indulged her. (Yes, she is getting dental treatment on the NHS so you can imagine how f*cked her teeth are (or aren't - the biggest issue is that a number of them are congenitally absent))
However, even that doesn't compare with my visit to the Wandsworth Road street fare in Fulham last Saturday where the gyros stand was charging £17 for the cheapest of their gyros and the sausage stand was charging £13.50 for the cheapest of their offerings. Even my other daughter who was with me and is usually a savage for the food said not worth it.

Her mother should be ashamed of recording her daughter swearing like that. Deeply patronising to think all non super rich Northern mothers would think this is OK. In any event you can’t run and make a profit with decent ice cream for £2 a pop.
