Full DoorDash Rewards Mastercard review
This credit card is a good fit for: DoorDash users who spend a large part of their food budget on takeout and delivery, and who want to maximize the benefits of the platform. It's also a good fit for those who want generous cash rewards, DoorDash-specific benefits, other perks for foodies, and a card with no annual fee.
Top perks
Chase has teamed up with one of the most popular food delivery apps, DoorDash, to launch the first DoorDash Rewards Mastercard. Check out some of the perks it comes with.
Unlimited cash rewards
Cardmembers get cash back on delivery and every other purchase made with the card, earning:
- 4% cash back on DoorDash and Caviar orders from hundreds of thousands of merchants on the DoorDash platform
- 3% cash back on dining when purchased directly from a restaurant, online or in store
- 2% cash back on grocery stores, online or in store
- 1% cash back on other purchases
Cardmembers have flexible cash back redemption options. They can use it to pay for part or all of a DoorDash or Caviar order, receive a statement credit or direct deposit into a cardmember's bank account, or redeem rewards for gift cards from a variety of brands and retailers. As long as the account remains open, the rewards don't expire.
Free DashPass membership
When you successfully open a DoorDash Rewards Mastercard account the primary cardmember will receive a free year (worth $96) of DashPass that can be used on both the DoorDash and Caviar applications. A membership to DashPass offers $0 delivery fees, reduced service fees, and other exclusive benefits. After the first year, you can continue to earn a complimentary DashPass membership every year if you spend $10,000 on the card.
World Elite Mastercard benefits
The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard is a World Elite Mastercard, giving the highest level of Mastercard benefits. This includes a monthly $5 credit off your first DoorDash order each month as an eligible DashPass member, complimentary 24/7 concierge service, a $5 Lyft credit after meeting certain requirements, protection from identity theft and fraudulent charges, and more.
No annual fee
Cardholders can earn all of these perks (including auto rental collision damage waiver, trip insurance, extended warranty, and purchase protection) for no annual fee. There are also no foreign transaction fees.
What could be improved
Even though the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard is a great card for foodies, it's not without its drawbacks.
Two benefits will expire
Two of the benefits currently offered will be gone by mid-2024 -- the $5 monthly DoorDash credit and the monthly 10% discount on non-restaurant items (up to $15 per order). This will leave only the complimentary DoorDash membership after spending $10,000 in one year, plus the unlimited cash back.
Limited bonus categories
If you use other food delivery brands or want to earn rewards besides DoorDash benefits, then you may want to consider other cards. This card is primarily meant for frequent DoorDash users.
Suggested credit score
The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard hasn't disclosed a suggested credit score. However, like most Chase cards, those with a FICO® Score of at least 700 or better have the best chance of qualifying. The card will be harder to get with a much lower credit score.
The card's APR is 20.24% - 28.99% variable and is based on your creditworthiness. Another consideration before you apply is the number of credit cards you've opened in the previous 24 months. If you've opened too many, Chase's 5/24 rule could lead to an automatic rejection.
The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard is right for you if:
DoorDash and Caviar is your go-to delivery service, and you want to earn the most DoorDash rewards with no annual fee. The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard® offers the most value if you use the app frequently.
