Greetings Programs! For the past couple of months we've been doing a Social Hour for the Milwaukee Tech (and whatever really) community and our next 2 events are coming up fast!!The next event will be this Friday May 31st at noon at the 3rd Street Market Hall. This date was voted on in the Milwaukee Slack which is where we primarily communicate, but we're reaching out here as well! This is our first attempt at a lunch event and we have no idea how busy the market hall will be, but we'll figure it out and use this experience to decide how to handle future lunches. Our normal meetups are on the first Tuesday of each month at 6PM and are also at the 3rd Street Market Hall. That means the next event is Tuesday June 4th!The idea is to just hang out, eat some food, and socialize! The goal of theseevents is to be unstructured and provide an environment where we can get toknow each other in a casual format. In other words, jump right in or just hangback, whatever you're comfortable with. Why? Why not? Before covid, a number of us used to meet up for lunch every nowand then and it was a great time enjoying a meal with old friends while makingnew ones!Due to the nature of the 3rd Street Market Hall, we do not have a reservedsection or anything, so look for me (Gary Kramlich). You can easily find me viamy mohawk. We normally end up with a table near the beer wall on the east side of the hall, so that's a good place to look for us!Please note that if you park in the market hall's parking structure you willneed to get your parking validated. See their website for more information.https://lnkd.in/gNjh78ffhttps://lnkd.in/gRc9EZvv

Greetings Everyone! We are happy to announce that the 25th Hack and Tell will be happening June 8th 2024!Hack and Tell is a 8 hour hackathon where you can work on whatever you want! There's No business models. No customer validation. No pitches. Just a time to hang out and create something awesome.Build something for yourself, your friends, or help someone else build something. It can be useful or completely useless. In short, build whatever you want. At the end of the event, you’ll get the chance to stand up and show us what you built or not. And if you do present you can pick a fun prize as well! Please note, that as of right now we do not have any sponsors for this event, so unlike previous events, we will not be able to provide lunch. However, we'll be in the 3rd Ward so there are lots of great options to choose from! You can find more information on our event page https://lnkd.in/gKpeAKru and be sure to RSVP to the event on eventbrite! https://lnkd.in/gZtRTTtf

I'm trying this new thing where I actually blog a weekly talking about things happening in Pidgin Instant Messenger's 3.0 development. The first article is up and we talk about how/why we're using regular expressions to parse IRCv3 in a new IRCv3 plugin in Pidgin 3! https://lnkd.in/e85VP4ZZ
